COVID-19 Update

Dear Elms Community:

At his press conference this afternoon, Governor DeWine mandated that all schools - public, private and charter - in the State of Ohio, not be in session for three weeks beginning after school on Monday, March 16, due to concerns regarding the coronavirus. He acknowledges students are not at risk for death due to the virus, but the extended break comes as the result of their ability to act as carriers.

The Elms will use this time to transition from classroom to digital learning. We anticipate each teacher will require students to continue their studies online and complete homework assignments. If your child does not have computer access, at your request, we can send a Chromebook home for her use during this time; we also have asked teachers to prepare printed materials as necessary.

Further details will arrive via tomorrow’s bulletin. If you have questions about COVID-19, please access the Center for Disease Control’s website. As this is a fluid situation we will post updates for the Elms community at www.theelms.org/coronavirus and you will be notified via text and email.

Blessings to all and prayers to those afflicted and their caregivers.
