Alexa Renner Presenting At 2021 Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Math Conference

Alexa Renner, a junior at Our Lady of the Elms High School, is presenting her paper at the 2021 Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Institute of Technology Undergraduate Math Conference on April 23-24. Alexa's paper on the Novel Limit Theorem was reviewed by her professor at the University of Akron. Later she was recommended as a presenter at this year's virtual conference.

Alexa shares "I wanted to find an idea that was easier than L’Hospital’s rule and Trigonometric identities for solving limits approaching zero because it is often very hard to solve these limits with existing ideas. This is an idea that succeeds in making it easier to solve these limits. I wanted to show this idea so that it could become a recognized part of Mathematics as we understand it."

The vision for the Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Conference is to provide a venue to highlight and celebrate the accomplishments and work of undergraduate mathematicians and statisticians. The conference is put on largely by undergraduates for undergraduates. The contributed student talks and posters will cover an array of topics including pure mathematical theory, applied modeling, statistics, and data science.
