Farm project

The first GAR grant was awarded on May 15, 2018. This grant was for $15,000 and funded the majority of the farm. In the Spring of 2019, the construction of the farm started with the building of 4 raised beds. Shortly after the  beds were built, construction for the chicken coop and run started. In the Spring of 2019, 20 chicken eggs were placed in an incubator. Something happened in the last week and the chicks unfortunately did not hatch. Consequently, 12 chicks were purchased from a farm. The chickens started laying eggs in the Spring of 2020. The eggs are sold and the money from the sales is used to support the farm. A greenhouse was added to the farm in the Fall of 2020.
