Digital Learning Updates

Greetings, Elms Community!

This opportunity to test distance learning has been a worthwhile exercise for the Elms. It’s funny what we learn when we leave “normal” behind! Anecdotal information winds its way to us, as patterns of learning have been established that serve each family in its own way. This is not a perfect time in the world; it’s new and it’s hard for everybody – students, parents and teachers alike.

I invite your feedback. Please share with meMr. Kelly or Mr. Gavin how you’re feeling. What’s working? Is there anything you need or need to know more about? Our community has transitioned from daily face-to-face interaction to a fluid environment where your child has greater ownership of her outcomes, with the Elms charting her course and her family cheering her along.

Now for a few housekeeping notes:

  1. Eggs are available every week – contact Diana Ross if you’d like to purchase Elms’ eggs.

  2. Parent-Teacher conferences are on this week's calendar. They will be conducted digitally if you request one.

  3. Elms' Gmail has been set-up for Grades One and Two. Please see the instructions from your classroom teacher.

  4. Chromebooks are still available. Please call the general phone number for the administration to reserve and schedule pick-up (330-836-9384).

  5. Lower School families – look for morning announcements coming soon.

  6. Administrative Offices remain open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Today we learned from the Governor's Press Conference that schools will continue distance learning through Friday, May 1. We will send an April calendar to you later this week that includes a week of spring break following Easter.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Never hesitate to reach out if we can be of assistance.

Blessings,
