Updated Holiday Schedule

Dear Elms Community,

As we approach the holiday season, we want to thank you for your support and your efforts regarding COVID-19. During these unprecedented times, we have asked much of you and your daughters. With your cooperation, we have been blessed to be at school for almost 3 months. With this said, we feel compelled to evaluate the calendar and how best to keep our students and faculty/staff healthy. We spoke with the Summit County Board of Health, leadership and staff on how to achieve the health of the students while maintaining the continuous learning process. After much discussion and thought, the following adjustments have been made to our academic calendar.

  • November 25 - 27 | Thanksgiving Break (no change)

  • November 30 - December 4 | Continuous Learning From Home K - 12 (no students on campus)

  • December 18 - January 1 | Christmas Break (no change)

  • January 4 - 8 | Continuous Learning From Home K - 12 (no students on campus)

Pre-school will operate November 30 - December and January 4 - 8 on a normal schedule. We would kindly request that if you or your child have traveled or attended a large gathering that you would take these weeks for a modified self-quarantine. We understand that families will gather during the holidays and it is our goal to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for your continued support through these unprecedented times.

We have made these adjustments because of holiday gatherings and the ability to self-quarantine for the required time for any symptoms to occur (CDC states the average time for symptoms to appear is 5 - 6 days). During your gatherings, we respectfully ask that you and your families follow the guidelines of wearing a mask and social distancing.

Again, we are grateful for all that you have done and continue to do.

Sincerely,

Mr. Kevin Kelly
Academic Dean
